Iron Crows Swoop Redwood Summit

Conjuring the ethers with my form,

I draw with my breath and sword

a motion to render the invisible visible.

Element: earth
Direction:
north
Color:
evergreen
Season: winter

Facing north, ascribed to earth, stand with feet shoulder width apart, knees bent, toes forward to slightly in, pelvis cocked forward. Hold hilt of sword at waist level, tip of sword at eyelevel staring at the point in line with a distant mountain summit.

Mind Technique:

Two circles of energy descend into the center rotating outwards sequentially forming an infinity loop.

Hand Technique:

Hold hilt very close to crosspiece very loosly using only the thumb and first finger. Point knuckles at face, sword tip up. Allow sword to fall away from the body initiating a circular arch. At the lowest point of the rotation, the elbow pops inward to allow the blade to continue the motion path. The thumb gives a squeeze to help the blade all the way up. Switch hands by rolling hilt out of one hand, then rolling hilt into the other hand. Repeat circular rotation.

Body Technique:

As the sword swooshes forward, down, and back, the hips lean into the movement, while the legs lean opposite. The body flows serpentine following the infinity form.

Transition:

Return to center, transition to next form by shifting weight to left leg, turning entire torsoe forty-five degrees to the right, and drawing right leg back and to the right by forty-five degreess. Return to balanced weight...
